COMPANION MANNERS

A class for all dogs, to teach basic manners to the dog, training skills for the handler, and to nurture a positive relationship with your dog. As a foundation course, it is an excellent choice for developing good manners and addressing unwanted behaviors like jumping up, pulling on leash or ignoring when called. We utilize proven training methods based in science and learning theory and we teach you the skills to train your dog in a positive and effective way that results in lasting behaviors.
6 week class covers the following topics: - Week 1. FOCUS & ATTENTION - teach your dog to respond to their name and focus on you when there are distractions - Week 2. SETTLE - teach your dog to lie down quietly, stay and focus on you - Week 3. LET'S GO - teach your dog to walk on a loose leash without lunging or pulling - Week 4. COME - teach your dog to come immediately when called - Week 5. SETTLE CONTINUED - further development of focus and control in the face of extreme distraction - Week 6. SELF CONTROL - teach your dog to control their impulses in the face of distractions with Leave It and Stay |
Companion Manners is held in-person at our training center.
